Johansson, Lars

STRATHAM - Lars Johansson, 39, died on Nov. 15, 2007, peacefully at home with his wife and four children by his side. Mr. Johansson was laid to rest in a private graveside service. He had fought a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

A resident of Montclair, NJ, Lars started playing hockey at a young age with the Cedar Grove Hockey Club. His youth hockey career continued for more than a decade, culminating as a stand-out defenseman for Montclair High School. He went on to play for the University of New Hampshire, and after graduating from college, semi-professional hockey in Sweden. Lars was posthumously inducted into the New Jersey High School Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.
