David Hansen passed away on March 4, 2025. He's survived by his loving wife, Bridget, children Abby, Brody, Cameron, and Lexi, and an extended family.

David played two seasons (1984-86) for the Olympic Stars. I picked him up in Chatham for many of our games and he stayed with me on a couple weekend road trips. Between meals and long drives with plenty of conversation, we got to know each other. He always had questions.

On a weekend trip in 1986 - a PeeWee tournament in Bristol, PA, I drove David down on Saturday morning in a snowstorm. The snow continued throughout the day, and there were more than six inches on the ground by the time our second game ended late afternoon. David had a league game with the New Jersey Colonials on Sunday morning, and he was adamant about getting back home that night. I promised him he would.
